Changes to my study programme
I am currently in my second year of sociology and during this time I have reflected on several things that I would like to change in my career.
I really like the study program of the career because I find it very broad and multidisciplinary, which allows knowledge to be connected with other careers, but I would like there to be more electives from the first year in order to have greater specialization according to the interest of each one.
I honestly find that the academic load is low and I would like it to be more challenging. I would not like to add more evaluations but I would like to add more content, I feel that there is still more to learn. As for the duration of the degree, I find that like all university degrees in this country, these are very long, and I would like it to be like in the United States where you can graduate from a degree in two years since the program is much more independent and flexible
Although the Faculty of Social Sciences is nice, I find that it has had several structural problems. I would like it to be brighter, to have a real casino, a new library where the books are on display, and a heating system.
the uses of technology are well implemented but the computing systems need to be renewed, on the other hand I feel that the learning methods are backward in all the universities which are focused on the reproduction and repetition of knowledge instead of the creation of more knowledge. the evaluations are very focused on the creation of essays and papers which are discarded over time
To achieve all these changes, it is essential to intervene in the financing of higher education and in the educational program
I completely agree with your statement, I would like to comment about the duration of the career too: There is a posible way that we can learn sociology in two or tree years.
