English lenguage challenges
Before entering university I had very bad English, the English I had at school was very basic and did not test our abilities, we saw very little content and it was quite simple. This caused me to arrive at the university with very poor English, in addition to not constantly practicing the English language, I soon forgot what I had learned.
My experience in English classes at the university has been quite good. This semester, I feel I have learned a lot and the teaching method is very good, I feel that in addition to English being a learning space, it is also a socialization space, which seems perfect to me since all languages should be learned through conversation. .
I sincerely like blogs since they offer a space for learning and opinion where we can express ourselves in relation to interesting and contingent topics, although I like face-to-face evaluations more
I think that what I have used English the most for has been to look for information on the internet. Almost all the information on the Internet is in English and there are things that can only be found in that language, for example, many sociology articles or books do not exist in Spanish since the Anglo-Saxon language is the one that produces the most knowledge, so learning English is basically an obligation
I feel that I use less and less the translator and I force myself more to learn English words that I did not know, in conclusion I feel that the English classes have been helpful
Finally, I advise watching all the movies in English with English subtitles to learn and be entertained at the same time.
Hi Agus, I see we have similar experiences, and yes, watching movies in their original language is a good resource to keep in touch with the language you are trying to learn.
ResponderBorrarI am very glad that your relationship with the language has changed positively when you entered the university, sincerely mine also changed and I believe that the teacher has a great influence in this.
ResponderBorrarThe conversation in language is absolutely important. We all should be able to express our self in class by talking... I think that would be fun (at the very least).
ResponderBorrarI have the same experience as you, I have a better relationship with english classes since I'm here in the University
